games games games :)
I love video games, despite how "noob" I am. I think people get addicted to games because they are fun to play and they want to get better at them.
Some games I enjoy are solitaire, rockband, and mario kart! fun fun fun :) I play them because they are fun ways to pass my time. I like playing Mario kart and rockband with my dad and little sister because we’re really competitive. They’re just two really fun games. We could kill like hours at a time playing rockband and not even notice. I’m always excited to crush my sister in another round of Mario kart :) On the other hand if I were to play with someone a lot better than me, I think I’d still have fun playing. Mario Kart is just a really fun way to pass my time.
When it comes to games where I’m competing against myself (like solitaire, if you can call that a game) I never give up until I win. Then I tell myself to play one more game until I win again. Then the cycle goes on for a pretty long time until I realize how repetitive my last bajillion hours have been. I guess people get so addicted to games because they want to keep getting better and they're a fun escape from the real world. Gamers are always wanting to improve, and the games themselves are also improving. It's in our human nature to want to keep improving ourselves and video games provide a really fun way to do that. You can get really into a game and won't want to stop playing until you beat your high score or whatever. My sister and I went like, two whole weeks this summer on Yoshi's Island on DS. We played like all day long, and thank goodness we got that game after summer school or I would've failed geography for sure. People should know their limit and focus more on things like units, friends and family.
Games are a way for someone to escape from the real world and participate in
I guess games are good in the way that it' helps families and friends get closer and it's fun.

The Campaign Trail!

I watched both of the advertisements and I found the first one pretty hilarious, and the second one was a campaign ad for Obama. The first video was an advertisement for Budweiser and in it there were a bunch of guys that called each other and were always saying "Wassap" and they were having a good time and enjoying life. I laughed a lot whenever they said that. The second video was a campaign ad for Obama. It featured the same men, but eight years later. Everything had changed negatively under Bush's government. The men who were once so happy had lost their homes and jobs, had no idea what was going on at home because they were participating the war in Iraq, had sustained injuries and couldn't afford painkillers, lost all their money and stocks due to the poor economy and were enduring strong hurricanes. At the end of the ad, the first man was watching Obama and he smiled because if Obama was elected, there would be change in their nation. This commercial is pretty brilliant because it relates to many Americans, it's funny and it addresses very important issues in America. It told the audience that by electing Obama, change would happen in America. I'm really happy that Obama got elected as the 44th president of the USA and I'm excited to see the change that he promised the citizens of America.
